Planning for the 2020 SDWWA Annual Conference.
Your SDWWA board has been looking ahead to the annual conference at the Aberdeen Ramkota on September 16 through 18. We have been monitoring the state and city responses to COVID-19 and have been in contact with the Ramkota Hotel regarding their approach to conferences that have been scheduled. The Board has decided to move forward with plans assuming the conference will be held as scheduled and have been communicating with the South Dakota AWWA Section and the South Dakota Water Environment Association relative to conference planning. By mid-July, the Board will decide whether or not the conference will be held in September, and will communicate that decision to the SDWWA membership by e-mail to members and on the SDWWA web site. Please feel free to share your questions or thoughts about the conference via e-mail to President Delvin DeBoer at email@example.com or Secretary/Treasurer Rob Kittay at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association (SDWWA) has been serving the needs of water and wastewater operators in South Dakota since 1935. Since that first meeting in 1935, the members have been meeting every fall at the SDWWA Annual Conference to advance a course of instruction for those responsible for the operation of water and wastewater facilities. Further objectives of the SDWWA are to promote the general advancement of knowledge of the design, construction, operation, and management of water and wastewater facilities, and to encourage a friendly exchange of information and experience among its members.
During the annual conference, joint annual meetings are also held by the South Dakota Section of the American Waterworks Association and the South Dakota Water Environment Association
Every spring the Association also sponsors two technical meetings, a water operators seminar and a wastewater operators seminar.
The SDWWA is a non-profit organization that is governed by an executive committee and board of directors which totals 14 volunteers. Board meetings are held approximately 3 times per year. Contact the Association Secretary to find out when/where the next meeting is if you would like to attend. The minutes of past board meetings and annual membership meetings are posted here for your review.
