The South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association (SDWWA) has been serving the needs of water and wastewater operators in South Dakota since 1935.  Since that first meeting in 1935, the members have been meeting every fall at the SDWWA Annual Conference to advance a course of instruction for those responsible for the operation of water and wastewater facilities.  Further objectives of the SDWWA are to promote the general advancement of knowledge of the design, construction, operation, and management of water and wastewater facilities, and to encourage a friendly exchange of information and experience among its members.

During the annual conference,  joint annual meetings are also held by the South Dakota Section of the American Waterworks Association and the South Dakota Water Environment Association

Every spring the Association also sponsors two technical meetings, a water operators seminar and a wastewater operators seminar.

The SDWWA is a non-profit organization that is governed by an executive committee and board of directors which totals 14 volunteers.  Board meetings are held approximately 3 times per year.  Contact the Association Secretary to find out when/where the next meeting is if you would like to attend.  The minutes of past board meetings and annual membership meetings are posted here for your review.

Awards

The Association annually recognizes personal and professional achievements of its members through an awards program.  The awards are given during the annual banquet and awards ceremony which is held at the annual conference of the South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association.  The criteria, description, and nominating form for the awards can be found on the Awards Page.
