SDWWA 2024 Annual Business Meeting
September 12, 2024
The Lodge at Deadwood
Call to Order: By President Bill Thorson at 12:23 pm. Approximately 200 were in attendance.
Thorson thanked ISG for sponsoring the 2024 SDWWA Business Luncheon.
Agenda: The agenda had been provided to the attendees. Dustin Dale moved for approval of the agenda. Chris Schmit seconded. Motion passed.
Minutes: The minutes of the 2023 Business Meeting had been posted to web site. Phil Greenwood moved for approval. Tanya Miller seconded. Motion passed.
SDWWA Tuesday Board Meeting: Thorson reviewed the combined WEA/SDWWA/SD AWWA meeting and SDWWA Tuesday Board meeting for the attendees.
Old Business: There was a call for Old Business.
Officers for 2024-25: Thorson announced that Chris Robinson would be the 2024-25 President and Dustin Dale would be the President-Elect.
Vice-President: The candidate from the Board was Bryan Lipp. Thorson called for nominations from the floor. Rob Kittay moved that a unanimous ballot be cast. Dave Van Cleave seconded. Motion passed.
Outgoing Directors: Brian Lipp, Greg Simmermon, and Jon Hauge are the outgoing directors and were recognized.
New Directors for 2024-25: The candidates recommended by the Nominating Committee for the SDWWA Board were:
Greg Simmermon-T-M RWS Jon Hauge-Volga Cullen Kohles-Banner Associates
Thorson called for nominations from the floor. Rob Kittay moved for nominations to cease and to cast a unanimous ballot. Ryan Allen seconded. Motion passed.
The gavel was then passed to Robinson who gave Thorson the President’s Award.
Robinson introduced the entire Board.
New Business: The sites of the future conferences were announced as follows: 2025-Pierre Ramkota, 2026-Aberdeen Ramkota, 2027-The Lodge at Deadwood, 2028-SF Ramkota, and 2029-The Lodge at Deadwood.
Nominator’s Prize: Trevor Hohn who nominated Eric Witt for the Dornbush Award won the $50 prize.
Door Prizes: Ben Haescherl won the Conference Watch. Several other door prizes were given
Adjournment: Chris Schmit moved for adjournment. Jeremy Casteel seconded. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 12:35 pm.
